Mattes use quilted fabric made of high quality wear-resistant velvet or cotton. All of the materials used in Mattes products are selected for their quality and rigorously tested. The Spine-Free design reliably prevents any pressure on the wither and spine.  It is recommended that this pad is used with the standard Mattes cloth or a high wither standard cloth. 
 
In the core of the pad a two layer (Poly-Flex) is used for shape retention, spreading pressure and padding.  The half pad is breathable.
 
It is recommended that Melp is used to wash sheepskin/wool products.
